The first Sunday we were home, he slept from 7 AM until 3 PM... without hardly a peep! And the only reason he got up at 3 was because we woke him to say goodbye to grandma. We've slowly been moving his bedtime earlier (LOL!). He moved to 6 AM, then a couple of nights at 3:30 AM, 1:30 AM on Friday, and finally 11 pm last night. In another week, hopefully he can have a real bedtime! Kevin went back to work this past weekend, so we were glad he was at least sleeping a good 8-9 hours at a time.
Things we do to try to stay awake during the day:
Our first trip to the park (he fell asleep on the way home!)
Playing peek-a-boo after morning bath time (he fell asleep soon after!)
Mommy thought eating should keep him awake, but after turning her head to open the diced apples, this is what she found. Alright, you win, Nicholas!
Other than sleep, Nicholas is doing great! He is laid-back, easy-going, social, and very curious about the world around him. He started crawling on hands and knees (instead of belly) this past Wednesday and is slowly working on his speed and distance. His favorite thing to do is pull himself up to stand, which he can do independently now (as long as he finds a stable object to pull up on!). We'd better start baby proofing! We have noticed some random clapping as well - not yet on demand, but he gets pretty excited when he does get his hands to come together.
Crawling to play with his Easter toys.
He got his first haircut on Wednesday. So a little of that long hair is gone, but we can see his eyes and ears now! He only fussed a little during the trim, and when he did, we gave him a mirror to look at himself and he made faces at the cute baby looking at him!
Man, do I need a haircut or what?!?
Getting ready for the first snip!
And the best part of this week is that we have found ways to get him really laughing and there's nothing more contagious than a little kid's laughter!
Sporting the new hairdo, a giggly smile, and a chubby tummy. Life is great!
