Summer Time Fun

Time for another update with pictures of what we have been up to these last few months (besides learning how to walk!). It has been a summer of a lot of "firsts" and learning new things. We keep telling him not to grow up so fast, but everyday he seems to be up to something new!

Bug bites and all, it was a pretty fun summer!

I went to my first Iowa Cubs game with the Wartburg Alumni group. What's up with all the orange???

And what's with these crazy characters?

"Our state fair is a great state fair!" or so they say. My first experience at the Iowa State Fair was pretty exciting: I got to see lots of live, smelly animals,

I got to wear this crazy hat and pretend to be a farmer,

I got to hang out with Daddy (my favorite part!),

And I got to meet the famous Dan Wardell from IPTV Kid's Clubhouse (and one of Daddy's friends from college).

I now love to look at books and will request my favorites at bedtime. Mommy says I make my grandmas (both librarians) proud!

I love to pretend to use the phone. Personally it's more fun to use Mommy's and Daddy's phones, but they don't let me use them very often!

The day after I took my first long walk, I tried on some big shoes! Shoes are so cool, especially Daddy's!

Monkey see, monkey do. I'm learning fast about how to spend my parents' money!

I'm also learning how to help Mommy pack. I actually was putting things back in the purse in this picture (although I did need a little encouragement to put ALL the items back!).

It's been a great summer and fall is already off to a good start! We're staying busy with some classes at the YMCA and story time at the library. It's hard to believe we've been home for almost 6 months already. Next month we finalize the adoption in the United States, then we apply for citizenship, social security number, and a passport. Then he is all set and the paperwork is FINISHED!
