WE GOT THE CALL!!!
Again, I was at work when CHSFS woke Kevin up Tuesday morning with the good news. He called the front desk at the clinic and they came and got me out of a treatment session. Luckily I was in a group session, so I could leave the kids with the Speech Therapist for a second. On my way to the phone, I had the thought that this is either something terrible or something fantastic... And thankfully, it was the latter!!! The moral of the story is that Abbie going to work seems to help speed up this adoption process since I was there when we got the referral, too!
After 24 hours of intense planning, innumerable calls to our travel agent, and multiple checks with the adoption agency, we have travel plans! We leave Des Moines next Tuesday (the 16th if you're keeping count) and will arrive in Seoul one long flight later. We'll be in Korea for about a week then coming back to the States on the following Wednesday the 24th. We're planning a few days to explore the city, a quick overnight trip to Busan where Nicholas was born, and lots of bonding time with our son!
We are going to do our best to update this blog as we travel but the formatting might not be pretty and there may or may not be any pictures. We'll try to keep everyone up to date with the important details and anecdotes of the trip.
As I came home from work yesterday, Kevin had Etta Jame's song "At Last" playing and now I can't seem to get the chorus of "You Can Fly" from Peter Pan out of my head. At last we can fly... HOORAY!

CONGRATULATIONS! I have tears in my eyes as well as streaming down my face and joy in my heart! I will pray for safe travels for you and for a great bonding time with Nicholas! May God provide peace, safety, comfort, and most of all joy!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome Abbie and Kevin! This is so exciting - and thank you so much for sharing these wonderful moments, so that we may also enjoy these memory making times.
